Short: NewIcons & MagicWB, together in perfect harmony! Author: dpfennin@uiuc.edu (David Pfenninger) Uploader: dpfennin uiuc edu (David Pfenninger) Type: pix/wb Architecture: generic This is my very first upload to Aminet. It is dedicated to all those Amiga users who are constantly arguing over which is better, NewIcons or MagicWB. This snapshot shows that both icon systems can work together to create a stunning (IMHO) Workbench. The snapshot is of a 800x600x16Bit WB screen, saved as a JPEG file. Here is a description of my system: A4000/040, 25 MHz WB/KS 3.1 18 MB RAM 2.5 GB Western Digital hard drive 16X IDE CD-ROM HD floppy drive CyberVision64 w/ 2 MB RAM, running CyberGraphX V3 Multiface III Zoom V.34 28.8 modem NEC/Multisync 3D monitor Yamaha YST-M10 speakers Here is a list of some of the tasks running in my snapshot: - NewIcons V4.1, with various icon sets off Aminet - MagicWB V2.0 (registered), with various icon sets off Aminet - WBTitle (personalizes WB titlebar and tells amount of free mem) - TitleClock (puts date and time on WB titlebar) - TolleUhr (I know, why two clocks, but I like analog and digital) - MCP (patches several system functions) - SetPatch97 (note the Gateway 2000 reference in the 3.1 ROM window) - CyberWindow (displaying MacOS startup screen) - CyberQT (displaying Star Trek: First Contact Quicktime movie) - CGWBPattern (can use hi-color backdrops/pics, and randomize them) - Homer (follows mouse pointer, makes comments) - StartMenu (ala Windows 95) - MagicMenu (not visible, but definately worth the mention) - X-Trash (manages trashcans for all HD partitions) - Urouhack, with AESgradient gadgets - ToolManager and ToolsDaemon; programs in TM dock, top to bottom: - Term 4.7c - FinalWriter 5.05 - DeliTracker 2.25 - Miami 2.1p (registered) - Voyager 2.88 (registered) - Multiview - LHA-GUI - Calculator - CyberQT 1.3 - MAC-Handler for ShapeShifter - ShapeShifter 3.8 (registered) - About user (displays my address and phone number) - And many, many more things running that are not visible... If you have any comments (good or bad) about my WB snapshot, or questions about my setup, please feel free to e-mail me (dpfennin@uiuc.edu). Also, check out my homepage (http://www.students.uiuc.edu/~dpfennin) - not much there yet, but I'm working on it. :) Hope you enjoy!
