About this server

This is a clustered server consisting of several IBM SP2 nodes:

Network

The frontends have external gigabit ethernet, aggregated bandwith available is 2 gigabit.

The internal network is an IBM SP Switch providing 150MB/s bandwidth with 1.2 microsecond latency.

Filesystem

We use GPFS over the SP Switch for shared storage in the cluster. The filesystem is based on SCSI-disks of various sizes and speeds, donations of enterprise-class disk storage cabinets and harddrives are always welcome.
