LDAP Duplication/Replication/Update Protocols WG (ldup)

TUESDAY, December 12 at 0900-1130
==================================

CHAIRS: Chris Apple <capple@ecal.com>
	John Strassner <jstrassn@cisco.com>

AGENDA:

0. Agenda bashing

 1. "LDAP Replication Requirements"
 http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/
 draft-ietf-ldup-replica-req-05.txt
Editor(s): Russ Weiser, Ellen Stokes, Ryan Moats, Richard
 Huber

This is a newly published draft and is a gating item to
making progress in this working group. Please, everyone read
this thoroughly and come prepared to discuss it.

 2. "LDUP Update Reconciliation Procedures"
 http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/
 draft-ietf-ldup-urp-03.txt
 Editor(s): Steven Legg, Alison Payne

This draft has not changed since it was published June 29,
because it is waiting for the requirements draft to go
 forward.

 3. "LDAP Replication Architecture"
 http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/
 draft-ietf-ldup-model-05.txt
Editor(s): Ed Reed, U. Srinivasan, John Merrells

This draft was just recently updated and distributed to
the mailing lists. Please come prepared to discuss this
and help move the draft along.

 4. "LDUP Replication Information Model"
 http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/
 draft-ietf-ldup-infomod-01.txt
 Editor(s): Ed Reed

This draft has not changed since it was published on March 9
and is now expired. One known point is that access control
information needs to be replicated, but we don't want to
deal with inherited ACI yet. Please come prepared to discuss
this and help move the draft along.

 5. "LDAP Subentry Schema"
 http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/
 draft-ietf-ldup-subentry-05.txt
 Editor(s): Ed Reed

This draft had 2 updates since the last meeting. Please read
the draft and come prepared to discuss it.

 6. "The LDUP Replication Update Protocol"
 http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/
 draft-ietf-ldup-protocol-02.txt
 Editor(s): G. Good, E. Stokes

This draft was last updated on August 15. Please read the
draft and come prepared to discuss it.

 7. "Extended Operations for Framing LDAP Operations"
 http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/
 draft-ietf-ldup-framing-00.txt
 Editor(s): G. Good, E. Stokes, Roger Harrison

This draft has not been updated since March 10. This work is
supposed to be combined with the grouping operations work
being done in LDAPEXT and produce a new framing document
 (but see below).

 8. "LDAP Client Update Protocol"
 http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/
 draft-natkovich-ldap-lcup-02.txt

 R. Megginson, Editor, O. Natkovich, M. Smith, M. Armijo,
 authors

This is a brand new update to this draft. Aside from the
fact that we need to change the name to reflect that this is
now a working group draft, please bring any other comments
 to the working group.

 9. Grouping operations

In Pittsburgh, we discussed a possible use of framing in
several areas (e.g., for the client to request locking on entries,
or for certain integrity constraints to be maintained).
Mark believes that we need extended
operations for delimiting beginXX and endXXX operations, and need a
document to cover these associated semantics. Note that what
is being proposed is that there is a generic way of saying
 Begin<insert operation here> and End<insert operation here>.

Mark and Roger have threatened to work on a revised draft...

 10. Some deliverables still missing in action...

10a. Mandatory replica management - Ed?

 10b. Master-slave and multi-master profile documents - Uppilli

 11. Revised charter discussion

 12. Any other business
