It provides a speedy and hassle-free way to upload and download files to and from your favourite FTP hosts. 1. HISTORY Version 1.0 (23 Apr 96) - First release. Version 1.0 (18 May 96) - FTP PostOffice added to package Version 1.01 (12 Aug 96) - Cancel Button added to Upload Progress Dialog Box. - Able to also accept FTP Host Addresses (eg. 123.45.67.8) instead of just the FTP Host Names. Version 1.02 (15 Aug 96) - A bug was found in Version 1.01. Multiple file uploading did not function properly if '/' is not the first character in the Directory string. - This bug is now eliminated in this version. Version 1.03 (14 Sep 96) - Animated icon added. - Settings in the registry will be removed when deleting an outbox. In previous versions, registry settings were not removed. - FTP PostOffice upgraded to version 1.01 (23 Oct 96). Version 1.0 was unable to show the list of outboxes if FTP PostOffice is installed in a directory with a long filename. Version 1.10 (25 Nov 96) - GeoCities logon option added. - Supports uploading in both Binary and ASCII modes. - Allows user to view response strings from host. - Supports scheduled batch uploading using the System Agent program from Microsoft Plus! for Win95. Version 1.11 (04 Jun 97) - Option for deleting files after uploading. Version 1.50 (01 Jul 97) - Hangs up modem automatically after uploading. - Auto-detect transfer type added. Switch to Binary or ASCII automatically depending on files. - Files can be uploaded in lowercase or uppercase. - Option for automatically changing ".htm" file extensions to ".html" while uploading and vice versa. - Windows-style help added. Version 1.50 (08 Aug 97) - A bug was discovered. FTP OutBox stalls when there are no files in the upload directory when performing scheduled uploading. - This bug is now eliminated in OUTBOX.EXE. - Change in version number is no required since this is only a minor fix-up. Version 1.50 (17 Jan 98) - Provide temporary support for MultiNet hosts, OUTBOX.EXE version has thus been changed to 1.51.1. Version 2.00 (27 Aug 98) - Bug found in OUTBOX.EXE. Scheduled uploading attempts to upload even if no files are present. Bug has now been eliminated. - Users are now allowed to change the FTP port number. - FTP InBox is introduced. - FTP InBox Mananger is introduced. Version 2.10 (28 May 98) - Implemented folder uploading feature. 2. FILES You should have the following files after you have unzipped the OutBox10.Zip file: FTP_PO.EXE - The FTP PostOffice Application INBOX.HLP - The FTP InBox Help File INB0XMGR.EXE - The FTP InBox Manager Application INSTALL.BAT - The Install file for FTP OutBox OUTBOX.EXE - The FTP OutBox Engine Application OUTBXMGR.EXE - The FTP OutBox Manager Application OUTBOX.HLP - The FTP OutBox Help File REGISTER.TXT - The Registration Form README.TXT - The file that you are reading now 3. INSTALLATION a. Installing the FTP Outbox Create a new directory (eg. \OUTBOX) and unzip the OutBox210.Zip file to it. You can also unzip the file to any existing directories on your system if you wish. Next, run the INSTALL.BAT file. 4. INSTRUCTIONS ON USING FTP OUTBOX Please refer to both the OUTBOX.HLP and INBOX.HLP help files. 5. UNREGISTERED COPY RESTRICTIONS Users are allowed to evaluate this unregistered copy of FTP OutBox free for a period of 30 days. It will automatically fail to function after the evaluation period is over. Users who are interested in registering FTP OutBox with the author, should fill up the registration form (Register.Txt) and mail it back to the author with the registration fee included or visit http://home.pacific.net.sg/~noaks for on-line registration. Upon registration, users will receive the registered copy of FTP OutBox (minus all those irritating message boxes). 6.
