Post Office: Revision History: ----------------- Version 2.31 Bug Fixes: Re-encrypted Password ( you WILL need to erase the old one, and re-enter it!!) Fixed the MCI device problem. (sorry :) Fixed Minor Timeoutbug in SMTP sender. Version 2.3 Bug Fixes: Improved Delete Update Fixed Initial Status Line Fixed Mail Program Path Problem Fixed Rules Update Problem on deletion Fixed (no-subject) duplicates Fixed numerous Timer dying problems Fixed Large Mail Lock Up New Features Deletion Confirmation Save Window Position for Mail Window Ability to save mail to a file New Features for the Registered Version Ability to Send New Mail Ability to Send Quick Replys to mail Deletion is now handled much better than in the previous version. The request is now queued, along with the selections highlighted at the time the request was made, and then when we can delete, you are prompted to confirm the deletion. Several miscellaneous options have been added to the mail viewer as well... such as saving to a file, and saving the position of the window. The registered version now has the ability to send mail!! But, bewere the sending procedure is new, and needs work... I've used it many times now, and it seems to work quite reliably up to about 10k where it will time out for apparently no reason. I'd be very interested in hearing from everyone to see how it reacts on their system. Sorry Folks, but the Headers configuration didn't make this version. I haven't had sufficient time to implement it, and I thought that the bug fixes, and the new mail sender for the registered version warranted this release. ----------------------- Version 2.0 - Beta 1 Many New Features: Header Retrieval (see what mail is on the host) Quick View and Delete Filtering Rules and others... P.O. (Post Office), Version 2.31 Author: Michael Novak mjn@ksu.ksu.edu novak@cis.ksu.edu WWW: http://www.cis.ksu.edu/~novak/po.html P.O. (Post Office), was dreamed up when I tired of my mailreader's ability to suck up 7-10% of my system resources, while the only function it was serving was keeping SLIP alive by continuously checking my mail in the background. P.O. should only take 2-5% system resources, and still keep checking your mail every XX number of seconds, while keeping SLIP alive, Most options P.O. offers, are completely configurable... just click the right mouse button on the main window, and choose configure, or choose configure from the minimized icon's window. If you have trouble configuring P.O., bring up the about box, and read the "Configuration" section. In order to make P.O. as versitile for its purpose as possible, I've made several additions to simulate features of many of the common mail readers, including: * Playing A .WAV file on new mail receipt * Icon Title Reports Message Count * Mailbox Icon can raise flag on new mail * Main Window can Stay On Top * The Title Bar can be Hidden * and a whole lot more If anyone has any further suggestions (or bug reports), send me some e-mail. Post Office is shareware. If you like it, and continue to use it, then I ask that you acknowledge it. I'm only begging for $5, so at least consider it, and the author's usually empty wallet. Michael Novak 1817 Hunting Ave, Apt #3 Manhattan, KS 66502 Don't forget to send me your e-mail address!!! When I get your registration, I'll e-mail you a thank you, and when a new version is available, I'll let you know via e-mail if you wish. I will also send you a password to unzip the registered version of Post Office. If you are a shareware author, and wish to trade registrations, then I'm usually more than willing to do so, especially any authors of delphi components, componet libraries, or winsock programs or utilities.
