Internet Game Machine IRC + Software for Internet Game Play Changes in the 10/22/96 IGM Release (1.08) =========================================== 1. The AutoMove Cursor on Games has been removed from this release. IGM can now determine when you have changed to another window, and will NOT jump back to IGM when a new game begins. 2. Due to a bug in AcroBot, IGM will now issues the SHOW STATS command with the nickname all in lower case. 3. The bug in Acro where the scores did not reset to zero has been fixed. The error was due to Mach's changing the outro message. 4. A new menu option is now available under the Windows menu pulldown, called Minimize all Windows. 5. IGM registered users can now define up to 12 custom popups. 6. The Acro answer window now has a horizontal scroll bar. 7. IGM now can keep track of what network each server is on. Right now, this information is only a comment, but may be used in further versions of IGM. Changes in the 10/08/96 IGM Release (1.07) =========================================== 1. The "garbage" text problem using DCC in the poker games has been fixed. 2. Wordsquare scoring has been completely rewritten...the most common bug was the "single tile" scoring problem. 3. IGM now uses a "boring" about box, instead of the "splash" window. 4. IGM now reminds you when you try to add too many messages on the "F7" screen. 5. IGM now does a "recursive" directory search for your WAV and MID (and DCC AutoSend) files. You may now create sub-directories for you massive .wav and .mid collections under your main WAV or MID directory you specified in IGM Preferences....IGM will search all subdirectories beneath it to find your file. 6. The bug in Poker concerning players with a dash in their nicknames not showing up in the card showdown display has been fixed. 7. The bug in Poker concerning Logging not showing the DCC messages from the bot has been fixed. 8. IGM now saves the last DCC file send buffer size you used, and will use it again as the new default for the next DCC send. 9. Since many people have complained that "cut and paste" doesn't seem to work right.... you now have to DOUBLE CLICK the scrolling text area in order to "grey" or "un-gray" the screen to stop/start the scrolling. This change will make the cut-and-paste operation look normal. Changes in the 9/22/96 IGM Release (1.06) ========================================== 1. This version of IGM now creates a new service (IRC channel) called #IGMgames. This channel allows people who want to play the DCC games a place to meet and chat and hopefully make a connection with each other to play a DCC game. The channel window makes it easy to declare your interest and ask a person to play a game with you. 2. A small bug that occured when you used a numeric IP address to connect to the server that did not show up on the title bar of the server window has been fixed. 3. IGM used to activate the buttonbar and the menu pulldowns only when the MOTD was completely sent by the server. Due to errors at some servers, the MOTD file is sometimes missing. IGM now will activate the buttonbar when the MOTD error message occurs. 4. IGM now allows you to turn off the feature where it will automatically connect to last server you used in a previous session. You'll find this new on/off switch on the Login Information Window (F2 button). 5. For those of you with monitor sizes greater than 800x600, IGM has now added 3 more buttons to the button bar to fill up the screen horizontally. 6. The /PART (or /LEAVE) command has been removed from IGM, since it duplicates what most people do instead....simply closing the window. 7. Poker and PokerNet games will now remove people who have left the channel with a "." before their nickname at the start of each hand. 8. A /WATCH command has been added to IGM to allow people to watch somebody's DCC game. Please download the new versions of PENTE, CHESS, and REVERSI for this feature to work. Changes in the 9/15/96 IGM Release (1.05) ========================================== 1. The /LIST command has now been changed to allow for the new parameters to be entered. You no longer need to type the /RAW LIST xxx command as indicated by most IRC servers. To list all channels with more than 4 people, type: /list >4 2. The supress messages to bot is now the default setting when you create a new IGM INI file. The Chaos game now honors this setting. 3. Wordsquare scoring on Triple Word score squares has now been fixed. Also, the fonts on the Wordsquare board have been changed to a SERIF font, so you can tell the difference between an uppercase I, and a lowercase L. 4. A new option exists on NOTIFY so IGM can automatically do a /WHOIS command on a nickname when notify notices they joined IRC. 5. The bug concerning having somebody with ops (the @nicks) changing their nickname and losing the @ character has been fixed. 6. The wordsquare, chat, and dcc chat windows will now no longer do a full maximize....this is in response to requests that /msg windows causes problems with wordsquare. 7. Breaking long lines of text into smaller lines is now done smoother, without an extra word appearing on a line by itself. 8. SPLIT text that sometimes occured in DCC poker and DCC chats have now been fixed. 9. All references to the vegas.scandal.cs.cmu poker in IGM have been changed to the new IRC poker server: irc.poker.net. Changes in the 9/9/96 IGM Release (1.04) ========================================== 1. IGM now has a COMMANDS menu pulldown on the main menu. This menu supports the main IRC commands used to control the IRC session/channels....but NOT nick specific commands. The nick commands are still available via the popup menu when you click a nickname in a window. 2. IGM didn't show the additional text message when somebody played a MIDI or SOUND. This bug has been fixed. 3. DDE commands issued from other programs were not being displayed (just like MIRC). Since this can cause confusion, I have put shown these commands in the server window now. 4. IGM used to abort playing a MIDI song when a new MIDI request came in....even if you didn't have that file. IGM will now continue to play your existing MIDI if you do not have the new MIDI file being requested. 5. Changing the mode on your nickname wasn't supported in IGM, since IGM assumed that all mode changes were channel related. This has now been fixed. You may now do nasty things with /mode like make yourself invisible if you want. Please read the IRC documentation...don't ask me how to do this. Changes in the 9/7/96 IGM Release (1.03) ========================================== 1. IGM now uses the ISON command to determine if a user has joined or left IRC for notify messages, instead of the older USERHOST command. As a result, IGM now can inform you of changes every 20 seconds instead of every 3 minutes, and you can now type the /userhost command inside of IGM. 2. IGM now uses a better queueing method to store your messages. As a result, the /BEEP command will now beep your computer if you have the sound feature turned on. 3. Separation of long lines of text into smaller ones is now being handled in a more effecient manner. 4. The Install program for IGM now has red indicator lights to show you what phase of the installation is being done. Changes in the 9/5/96 IGM Release (1.02) ========================================== 1. IGM now allows you to both SEND DDE command and RESPOND to DDE commands from other programs in a manner similar to mIRC. For more information, consult the IGM.HLP file. Changes in the 9/2/96 IGM Release (1.01) ========================================== 1. The IGM logo now properly appears when you start up IGM. 2. People seemed to have some confusion when they clicked the player conversation area and it turned gray. Now, a message will appear telling them what happened. 3. Due to using a new scrolling technique, the RiskyBusiness game answers were not being shown properly. This bug is now fixed. 4. The small bug of not telling who played a sound or midi file has been fixed. 5. A new INSTALL.EXE has been created. This program will copy the files, do the associations, create an icon for you Program Manager (or Win95 menu), and add many new servers to your original INI file. Changes in the 8/30/96 IGM Release (1.00) ========================================== 1. IGM now uses a new VBX for it's Winsock communication, CSWSKCTL.VBX. You may now delete CSWSOCK.VBX if you wish, since it is no longer being used. 2. Connections to IRC servers should now be better and faster than before, I took out a lot of the "wait" code for IdentD due to the new VBX. 3. IGM now allows the standard cut and paste for the player conversations. As a result of this new Cut and Paste, you now LEFT click to turn the box gray to stop scrolling instead of the RIGHT click of previous versions. 4. IGM is now using a new IGMCARDS.DLL. If you play the Poker games, you will notice new backs to the playing cards. 5. IGM now has context sensitive help. For example, pressing the F1 key on a poker window will now show the POKER help section. 6. A horizontal scroll bar has been added to the window used to display output from the /LINKS, /MAP and /LIST commands. This scroll bar was also added to the SETUP ALIAS/POPUPS and SETUP MESSAGES windows as well 7. IGM can now play MIDI (.mid) song files. You can set up whether you wish to receive them, and where the directory exists. The command: /MIDI [opt nick or channel] will play the files publically, while the /PLAY plays the file for only you. 8. The KICK bug has been fixed. When a person gets kicked, their name is now removed from the nickname list. 9. DCC AutoSend and AutoGet have been enhanced. When IGM notices a file with ".mid" or ".wav" in it, IGM will automatically change to the MIDI or WAV directory, instead of the default DCC directory. 10. IGM is now no longer in BETA TEST. Thanks to all of you who helped test it with me. (You know who you are).
