Installation

You should install the packages in order of appearance:

zlib - Compression library (required)
http://www.gzip.org/zlib/
libbz2 - Compression library (recommended)
http://sources.redhat.com/bzip2/
dklibs - general purpose library (required)
http://www.e-technik.fh-schmalkalden.de/personen/dhp/krause/Download/dklibs.tgz
libpng - PNG reference library (required)
http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/index.html
png2pdf - PNG to PDF converter (required)
http://www.e-technik.fh-schmalkalden.de/personen/dhp/krause/Download/png2pdf.tgz

For all these packages the usual

  ./configure
  make
  make install

should work.

I strongly recommend to use a binary, see the Win32 binary page.
If you want to install from source you should plan for one day.
